Progress update April 25th, 2022
The Fork
…is done. The old chain has been switched into read-only mode as of Block 880. No more blocks can be added to the old chain. The old chain is still accessible via your desktop wallet, you can see your old NESS1 and NCH1 holdings. You are still able to install the desktop wallet, enter your seed phrase and display your old holdings. However your holdings are already on the new chain and accessible via the mobile wallet. We recognized that almost everyone is already using the (preliminary Skycoin) mobile wallet, so we have rerouted the wallets node URL to the new chain. The transactions you do now are moving your true NESS and NCH. The amount displayed reflects your NESS and NCH holdings on the new chain. The NCH started accumulating fresh from zero on the new chain.
The NESS you are still holding on Waves.Exchange is not affected by the fork. However you will need to swap your NESS onto the new chain soon as we are about to delist NESS from Waves.Exchange, more on that at the end of this article.
The NCH buyback
…can technically take place now. We are developing a graphical interface for you to simplify the process. The premise is that the ‘swap’ will be done by YOU, the NESS blockchain and the Emercoin Services needed to secure the transaction with no other person involved. To exchange your NCH for NESS, you would need to generate key pairs to identify you and your holdings to the network. We have finished the technical development and are now focusing on making the process simple and user friendly. A coin hours buyback has never been done before, this is a first! With the buyback, we are setting a base value for NCH, this is important as we are about to list NCH on XBTS. This will be announced separately.
Mobile wallet
We have a fantastic announcement to make! We like to express our gratitude to Synth, CEO of Skycoin for his generosity as he has granted us access to the none-open source codebase of the Skycoin wallet mobile application. We are forking from the applications private repository and are allowed to reprogram and rebrand it to craft the PrivateNess Network mobile wallet, available in your app store soon. This will not make the codebase for the wallet open source, it remains closed.
Desktop wallet
The desktop wallet is currently displaying the old chain as we are developing a new version of the wallet.
Website
We have migrated our website to a VPS (Virtual Private Server) and have it almost were we want it to be. The last and final migration of our online presence will be a migration onto our very own web hosting platform, the PrivateNess IPFS service which we are now developing and implementing in the mainnet as soon as possible. The website is accessible via all browsers without errors shown regarding the SSL certificate. Tested with Chromium, Brave, Firefox, Firedragon, Opera, Safari, Edge. Do let us know if the website isn’t working for you.
The launch of the corenode reward program
…is tied to the finalization of the install script, the one single script you would need to run on your computer to install and start the node. The install script will run on any operating system, we are also creating flash-ready images for the Raspberry Pi. The underlying tech is already developed and ready to be deployed.

Waves.Exchange delist
We will delist NESS from Waves.Exchange on the 31st of May, this is the countdown. You need to swap your coins onto the new blockchain or you will lose your tokens. The delisting is necessary as Waves currently only allows trading synthetic-NESS, representations of real NESS which are held in custody. We want you to be able to move your NESS freely from your Fiber Wallet to exchanges and back, the new blockchain finally allows NESS to be listed as native Fiber tokens.

- In your account, go to Deposit/Withdraw
- Switch the TRANSFER SERVICE to “WAVES Chain Tokens”
- Select NESS as the coin you like to deposit
- Send your NESS to the provided address
- The swap happens internally, your NESS is now native.
